Studded with vox energists, these shields come in a vast array of styles but only one purpose: to combat sorcery.

 

Base: This item adds one half Superiority bonus (rounded up) to AC and Reflex saves.

 

Whenever the wielder of this shield is targeted or caught in the area of effect of a spell or [Magical] ability directed at them from an enemy, this item gains one reserve Spell Point. The Shield can hold a maximum number of Reserve Spell Points equal to 3 x (Superiority bonus +1).

 

As a standard action, the wielder can spend 3 Reserve Spell Points from this item to unleash the stored energy in the shield. All creatures in a Line 5 must succeed in a Reflex save or take 3d6 + ½ level untyped damage.

 

Superiority +2: As a standard action, the wielder can spend 6 Reserve Spell Points from this item to unleash the stored energy in the shield. All creatures in a Line 5 must succeed in a Reflex save or take 6d6 + ½ level untyped damage.

 

Superiority +4: As a standard action, the wielder can spend 9 Reserve Spell Points from this item to unleash the stored energy in the shield. All creatures in a Line 5 must succeed in a Reflex save or take 9d6 + ½ level untyped damage.
